Daffodil pop-up farm stand Wednesday 11am-6pm and Barrett's Bucks update!

The daffodils are in full bloom right now so we are having a daffodil sale at the farm stand tomorrow, Wednesday 11am-6pm (or until they sell out)! The Wednesday daffodil sale is open to the public for walk-up sales and will be self serve. Daffodil bunches are $10 each and payment may be made by cash or check deposited in our self serve payment box. In addition, Barrett’s Bucks members may start to use their Barrett’s Bucks this week! To use your Barrett’s Bucks for the farm stand pop-up sale fill out the paper Barrett’s Bucks card (provided at the farm stand) with your name and the amount of your purchase and leave it in the self serve payment box.

We will also have our online store open on Thursday at 2pm for pre-orders for pick-up Friday. Barrett’s Bucks members may now use their Bucks for the online ordering by selecting “Bucks” from the payment drop down menu (instead of credit card) and we will deduct the purchase from your balance. Non-members and CSA members may continue to order and pay by credit card. If you are not sure if you have Barrett’s Bucks (CSA memberships did not come with any this year, however some people did purchase Barrett’s Bucks in addition to their CSA membership) please email Melissa for confirmation. We are eagerly watching the asparagus field for the first signs of growth. We anticipate beginning to harvest at our usual time, around the start of the second week in May. When we have asparagus we will plan to continue to have both walk-up sales and pre-ordered pick-ups.

What a difference a week makes! Last Friday our tulips were buried in snow and this week the first varieties are ready for harvest! Orders will be open this afternoon (Thursday April 22nd) at 2pm for pick-up tomorrow, Friday April 23, 2pm-4pm, and 4pm-6pm. In addition to tulips we will have the last sale of kale and spinach from our high tunnel, the first of our daffodils, mushrooms from Fat Moon Farm, and jam and vinegar from Silferleaf Farm. Spring greens are here! Warm sunny days last week meant a lot of growth for the arugula and spinach in our high tunnels so we have an unexpected crop of early greens ready for harvest! Greens and beets will be available on our online store starting at 2pm today, Thursday April 1st for pre-order for pick-up tomorrow, Friday April 2, 2pm-6pm. • Raspberry Vinegar - From Silferleaf Farm just down the road from us!

We will be open regularly starting in early May when the tulip, daffodil and asparagus harvests begin! At that time we will have more high tunnel greens, microgreens, and the first seedlings available! By June we will be up and running with a staffed farm store and CSA beginning June 8th! While the CSA is sold out we do still have a few Barrett’s Bucks memberships available. Those that sign up before April 15th will receive a bonus credit added to their account (details available here: http://www.barrettsmillfarm.com/barretts-bucks).

Next up - field crops! This field is being prepped for seeding the first outdoor carrots and beets.
