Asparagus season! Self serve and online sales this week

We will be open for self-serve walk up sales at the farm stand this week Tuesday-Friday 11am-6pm and Saturday 9am-3pm (our regular season hours). We will also have online ordering available for pick up Wednesday and Friday 2pm-4pm or 4pm-6pm, and Saturday 11am-1pm and 1pm-3pm. This will be our online order pick-up schedule for the season. This week, online sales will open at 6pm the day before pick-up (so Tuesday 6pm, Thursday 6pm and Friday 6pm) and sales will close at 6am the morning of pick-up. To order, visit https://openfoodnetwork.net/barrett-s-mill-farm/shop (once the order cycle has opened) and select your pick-up time preference, then all of the items available will appear.

We will offer self-serve sales at the farm stand until we begin to staff the store in late May (we will continue to have an online ordering option once the store is staffed). Self-serve payment options include cash (exact change), check or Barrett’s Bucks for those who are Barrett’s Bucks members. See below for a list of what will be available. Prices are also included for exact change planning! Once we are staffed in the farm stand at the end of the month we will begin also accepting credit card and SNAP payments.

Self-serve walk up sales starting Tuesday will include:

• Asparagus - $5/bunch. The asparagus harvest will increase with the warmer weather but there will be a 2 bunch limit per customer for now while the harvest is still ramping up.

• Fancy daffodils -$10/bunch.

• Mushrooms from Fat Moon Farm in Westford, MA - $9 for Farmer Mix bags each (and $5 for shiitake pints at the end of the week).

• Herb seedlings - $4 each.

• Tulips- This will be our last week for tulips. Varieties will include Menton, Avignon, and Blue spectacle.

• Microgreens - Spicy and mild mixes as available.

• Curly kale- Sold by the bunch, full sized leaves. Grown in our high tunnel, the first harvest from these plants!

• Fancy daffodils

• Double B Honey - From hives on the property. 1/2lb, 1lb, and 2lb jars available.

• Herb seedlings

Mother's Day weekend tulip (and more!) pre-orders start today!

Pre-orders are available starting today, Wednesday May 5th, at 6pm for pick up this Friday May 7th (2pm-4pm or 4pm-6pm) and Saturday May 8th from 9am-11am. Orders are open to all for payment by credit card. Barrett’s Bucks members also have the option to pay using “Bucks” which is now an option in the payment drop down menu.

Pre-order items available for pick-up this Friday 2pm-6pm and Saturday 9am-11am at our farm stand:

• Tulips! We stocked up for Mother’s Day! Tulip varieties Menton, Avignon, Charming Beauty, Angelique, Blue Spectacle and King’s Orange will all be available. There are photos of each on the online store so that you can select your favorite!

• Daffodils -Sir Winston Churchill variety which has multiple flowers per stem and a fragrant smell.

• Asparagus - All asparagus for this weekend will be sold by pre-order. We will have more walk up sales next week (days will be announced ahead of time in our newsletter).

• Mushrooms - From Fat Moon Farm in Westford

• Double B Honey - From hives on the property! Half, 1 pound, and 2 pound jars now available.

• Parsley plants - Full plants ready to be planted in your garden or in a larger pot for in home use.

We will be open for self-serve walk-up sales this Tuesday May 4th from 11am-6pm! We will have daffodils and tulips for sale as well as the first asparagus of the season. Payments accepted include cash (exact change), check or Barrett’s Bucks. No advance ordering required, just stop by the farm stand, select what you would like, and leave your payment in the metal payment box! We will send out another notification if we open for self serve again later this week.

Self-serve Farm Stand Tuesday May 4th (exact change only as we will be out in the fields!):

• Daffodils -Bridal Crown, Delnashaugh and Sir Winston Churchill varieties, $10 per bunch

• Tulips - King’s Orange, Angelique and Charming Beauty varieties. $20 per bunch. For walk-up sales, there may be some tulips bunches with more open buds (so they may not last quite as long in the vase) available for $15 each

• Asparagus - The first of the season! $5 per bunch

This is just a reminder that online pre-orders open today at 2pm! Order pick-up is tomorrow, Friday April 30th. This week we are accepting Barrett’s Bucks purchases online. Please note that this particular payment option is for Barrett’s Bucks members only. CSA members do not automatically get Barrett’s Bucks as part of their memberships this year, however some CSA members did purchase Bucks in addition to their CSA membership. If you are unsure whether you have Bucks, please email Melissa for confirmation.

We will have plenty more tulips next week in time for Mother’s Day, and hopefully we’ll also have some asparagus by then as well!

Daffodil pop-up farm stand Wednesday 11am-6pm and Barrett's Bucks update!

The daffodils are in full bloom right now so we are having a daffodil sale at the farm stand tomorrow, Wednesday 11am-6pm (or until they sell out)! The Wednesday daffodil sale is open to the public for walk-up sales and will be self serve. Daffodil bunches are $10 each and payment may be made by cash or check deposited in our self serve payment box. In addition, Barrett’s Bucks members may start to use their Barrett’s Bucks this week! To use your Barrett’s Bucks for the farm stand pop-up sale fill out the paper Barrett’s Bucks card (provided at the farm stand) with your name and the amount of your purchase and leave it in the self serve payment box.

We will also have our online store open on Thursday at 2pm for pre-orders for pick-up Friday. Barrett’s Bucks members may now use their Bucks for the online ordering by selecting “Bucks” from the payment drop down menu (instead of credit card) and we will deduct the purchase from your balance. Non-members and CSA members may continue to order and pay by credit card. If you are not sure if you have Barrett’s Bucks (CSA memberships did not come with any this year, however some people did purchase Barrett’s Bucks in addition to their CSA membership) please email Melissa for confirmation. We are eagerly watching the asparagus field for the first signs of growth. We anticipate beginning to harvest at our usual time, around the start of the second week in May. When we have asparagus we will plan to continue to have both walk-up sales and pre-ordered pick-ups.
