2024 CSA Options
The preseason investment provided by members is really important to the health of the business. At Barrett's Mill Farm, we offer three Vegetable CSA options: Main Season (20 weeks), Extended Season (24 weeks), and Flex (20 pick-ups over the course of a 24 week season). We also offer a Pick-your-own Flower CSA and a Mushroom CSA from Fat Moon.
This year we are offering a sliding scale for our Main Season CSA. We would like our CSA to be accessible, so if the Standard price of the CSA is a significant financial burden for you, please select the Reduced Price membership. Supporter memberships help us to offer Reduced price memberships, donate memberships to Dignity in Asylum and Minute Man ARC, as well as offer discounted memberships to SNAP households.
We do not yet have sign-up forms available for the SNAP CSA, but if you would like more information on this program, email Lise at lise@barrettsmillfarm.com.
Main Season CSA
June 12th - October 26th 2024

Barrett’s Mill Farm’s Main Season Vegetable CSA is a “market style” CSA. Over the course of the season, you will come to the farm once a week and choose from among a wide variety of vegetables in the CSA distribution area to fill your CSA bag. In addition to the vegetables that will be harvested for members, there will be a set amount of Pick-Your-Own crops (such as strawberries, peas, beans, cherry tomatoes and herbs) available most weeks of the Main Season.
New members will receive a canvas CSA bag.

Extended Season CSA
June 12th - November 23rd, 2024

If you love to eat local organic veggies deeper into the fall, then our Extended Season CSA is for you. This extended 24-week CSA works the same as our Main Season CSA - it is "market style", so you will come to the farm once a week and choose from among a wide variety of vegetables in the CSA distribution area to fill your CSA bag. Pick-Your-Own crops will be available in addition to the CSA bag for most of the season, however due to colder temperatures in the later fall, PYO crops are usually unavailable by late October. As we get later into the season, we sometimes offer one bulkier storage item (like winter squash or Brussels sprouts stalks) for you to take in addition to your CSA bag.

Flex CSA
June 12th - November 23rd, 2024

If you travel in the summer or are too busy to make it to the farm every week, the Flex CSA is a great option. Flex CSA memberships include 20 weeks of CSA pick-ups over the course of a 24 week season. You choose which 4 weeks you would like to take off. The 20 weeks you choose to do your pick-ups will work the same as in the Main Season and Extended Season CSAs: you will fill your CSA bag with vegetables from the CSA distribution area, and during the summer and early fall there will also be Pick-your-own crops available in addition to the bag.

PYO Flower CSA
We will contact members about the exact start date in early July, but peak flower season is usually mid-July to early September.
Picking days: Anytime during farmstand hours.
Tuesday - Friday 11am - 6pm
Saturday 9am - 3pm
Cost: $75 includes 6 PYO bouquets
Come wander in our flower garden and choose your favorite blossoms to take home! A mason quart jar will be provided for each Pick-Your-Own Flower Membership. Picking is available anytime during farm stand hours, and you can pick as many bouquets as you like per visit until you reach a total of 6 bouquets for the season.
All members pick bouquets into wide mouth quart jars. Depending on the type of flowers you pick and how many leaves you strip off the flowers, a wide-mouth mason jar can fit between 15 and 40 stems. Flower CSA memberships expire at the end of the season - they cannot be rolled over to subsequent seasons.
Mushroom CSA from Fat Moon
2024 Spring Session: May 7th - week of June 25th

2024 Spring pick-up days:
For the first 3 weeks, pick-ups will be labeled with you name and set out at our self-serve farm stand (May 7th, 14th and 21st) Tuesdays 11am - 6pm
For the last 5 weeks, pick-ups are available Tuesday-Friday 11am - 6pm and Saturday 9am - 3pm
Spring CSA Cost: $145 for 8 weeks
Sign up for the Fat Moon Mushroom CSA and each week you'll receive one pound of Fat Moon's fresh, organic mushrooms. Over the course of the season, expect to get a taste of varieties like Shiitake, Chestnut, Lion's Mane, Pioppino, various Oyster mushrooms, and more! Throughout the Spring CSA season we will be receiving our delivery on Monday afternoons and they will be kept in our cooler until pick-up, so while the mushrooms do hold well when refrigerated, we recommend Tuesday or Wednesday pick-up for the longest shelf life.
