It is starting to feel like spring on the farm! While we are still spending quite a bit of time on administrative tasks in the office, we’re also now getting outside a bit as well. We recently seeded in the greenhouse (leeks, onions, herbs and flowers), thinned and weeded high tunnel spinach, seeded more greens successions in the high tunnels, put together cold frames, and started getting our tractors ready for the year. Things are moving fast - in just a few weeks we will not only begin seeding out in the field, but we will also begin selling veggies! Before we know it it will be asparagus harvesting season in May followed the CSA opening on June 12th! Spring is never boring on a farm - after farming for over 18 years we continue to be excited to get outside and put our plans into action.
Some upcoming dates to remember:
By the week of April 2nd - We plan to have our first high tunnel greens available for sale. April greens like spinach, kale, pea shoots and arugula will be sold as online pre-orders for payment by credit card or Barrett’s Bucks. Keep an eye out for an announcement with more details later this month!

Month of May - May brings some of our favorite harvests of the season - asparagus, tulips and daffodils. This is also the biggest planting month of the year so gardeners will find a wide variety of plants available as part of our expanded seedling sale. We will be open for online pre-orders as well as walk-up sales.
May 28th - The farm store is staffed for the season and open regular hours: Tuesday-Friday 11am-6pm and Saturdays 9am-3pm.
